Privacy
Website or webpage refers to pages owned and maintained by the Tall Hickory Marketing, LLC, under any domain owned by Tall Hickory Marketing, LLC, unless otherwise stated. Please contact us if you ever have any questions or concerns about any of these related policies.
All names and addresses in our email distribution list are used solely to communicate with site users or members who purchased products or have double opted-in to receive any general mailings occasionally sent or who have double opted-in to receive ongoing updates and listmail.
Our listmail email system, AWeber Communications, Inc., allows each user to set which type of list(s) they do or do not wish to be subscribed to and can be changed by the user on the email user access webpage at any time. This information is included with the original sign-up welcome email and with each email that we send. For customers buying products, communication may be necessary to inform you of account information, or changes that may affect a shipment or any processing issues.
We never sell, rent, trade, give or otherwise share any information we have with any other group for any other purpose ever. Anyone who is involved with a data-mining (personal information brokers) company or some other group whether for-profit or non-profit need not even bother asking if we would like to release any information of any type, even though there are occasionally good reasons to do so. Users, be mindful of what you put onto any blog or forum anywhere as this information is being crawled by miners looking for whatever they look for.
Any user information that is kept on file for login or account information is only seen by a person who "needs to know" in order to process your requests. Financial data is used by our site shopping cart processor and the funds/card processors servicing the cart and the shopping cart management vendors who are certified by ScanAlert™ Hacker SAFE or Verisign™ and PCI scan-verified security companies. Data is handled under those sites' Privacy and Terms of Use policies--for example, PayPal.com
This privacy statement applies only to our Website. We are not responsible for the privacy statements of sites that we link to throughout our pages, blogs and forums. The purpose for our off-site linking should be obvious by the context, but does not necessarily endorse these other sites. If you find something that is obviously mis-directed, report this by calling or using the contact link at the bottom of each page.
If you are filling out a form which requires you to enter sensitive information, such as a credit card number, that information should be encrypted and handled by 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology. You should see on a secure page, such as our payment form, the closed "lock" icon on the bottom of the web browsers or at the top next to the address bar and will usually see https:// at the front of the address URL. Unsecured pages display the unlocked lock icon. Information may be used to contact you concerning an order or a request you have made from us. Any financial, shipping or fulfillment information necessary to process orders will be given to vendor order departments in a secure manner. All vendors who must use this information are required to also maintain Security Certification.
Most pages on our website can be viewed by all members and providers. Some pages and blogs are public. If you are allowed to post comments and responses about yourself, do NOT post information that you do not want the whole world to see. Do NOT post personally identifying, private information about anyone else. If it is a matter of public record that can easily be verified such as a public figure or news event reported on in the media, that is acceptable, but do use prudence and propriety. The owners and publishers of websites owned by Tall Hickory Marketing, LLC reserve the right to make all decisions about what stays or does not stay on the site. The site's primary purpose is to provide as much information and appropriate testimony as possible to assist all users in finding solutions and processes and products that achieve health and wellness and to help them avoid things that contribute to sickness, and body dysfunction and damage.
Any Tell-A-Friend form email address data is used for site statistical purposes and not used for any other purpose. We all loathe spam. If you operate a website or business, and your contact is available, we may correspond on a business basis. Please do not spam anyone else with emails sent to you from us.
Almost all website hosting companies provide the basic statistical data about "hits" to websites and their pages. They cannot "see" any personally identifiable information about any user. IP addresses are usually logged with hosting statistics along with other basic browser information allowing site owners to assess numbers and trends of how and where their site is being accessed. Any login specific data is never shared beyond a "need-to-know" basis for site enhancement and user satisfaction improvements.
We use a shopping cart that is validated daily and compliant through ScanAlert's™ Certified PCI Compliance Program. They explain that "Visa and MasterCard require all entities that accept credit card payments over the Internet - or process, transmit or store credit card data on a network connected in any way to the Internet - to be certified to meet the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard." Also that, "All credit card companies and all banks worldwide accept ScanAlert's PCI Certification to validate compliance with Visa's CISP/AIS and MasterCard's SDP program requirements."
To meet these requirements of handling any secure information via our shopping cart, we have completed both the Annual PCI Self-Assessment Questionnaire (December 2006) and passed security scans wherever payment card information is processed or stored. The ScanAlert™ Hacker SAFE logo and certificate will appear on all payment tranmission pages. The Shopping Cart and Processing are Hacker SAFE™ and Verisign™ certified.
Be aware most commercial (profit or non) are very much involved in contributing to data-mining companies and databanks. If these long-used and all-encompassing practices are new to anyone reading this, please see the October 2006 issue of Consumer Reports® article on pages 41-45, "Your privacy for sale" where they outline how identity theft and worse are made easy both off and online when the huge quantities of very personal (head to toe, body, mind and spirit) data are readily attained (much illegally) and given/sold to databanks and databases worldwide.
Your DATA is a hot item. Did you know: "The federal government is a steady customer of the data collectors, but there's no way to know what it collects or exactly how much it pays." "Pretexters, [callers who are liars about why they're calling] who lie to get information about you and sell it to anybody, operate largely free of regulation." (p. 41, col. 2). "In fiscal 2005, the departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and State, and the Social Security Administration spent $30 million on data-broker contracts, according to a 2006 GAO report, which also suggested that the data-broker business was at odds with widely accepted principles for protecting personal data." (p. 43, col. 3) Their article is WELL worth the read by everyone.
By using our Website, you are consenting to the collection and use of certain information in the manner we describe and agree to be bound by the terms of use as described here. Every effort that we know to make is being made to ensure that privacy and security are maintained.
